Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 6, 2026

Introduction

Welcome to Vanige ("we," "our," or "us"). We are dedicated to safeguarding your personal data and privacy rights. This policy clarifies how information is gathered, used, and secured when you access the Vanige mobile application — a native iOS and Android app for tracking the freshness and expiry of your cosmetic products.

Please review this document thoroughly. If you disagree with these terms, the application should not be accessed.

Information We Collect

The application stores information you provide directly, entirely on your own device:

  • Product details: brand, name, category, routine tag, and dates (opened, period-after-opening, expiry, shelf life)
  • Photos: a local file reference to images you attach — the photo stays on your device and is never uploaded
  • Reminder settings: whether expiry reminders are enabled and your chosen cadence
  • Theme preference: your light / dark / system choice
  • Consent state: your ad-consent and disclaimer choices between app launches

This data is stored using MMKV, a fast local key-value store. There is no account and no cloud sync — we cannot access or retrieve your shelf from our side.

Automatically Collected Information

Certain data is automatically collected through third-party services to support analytics, advertising, and app stability:

  • Device information: device ID, OS version, network details
  • Usage data: feature interactions, screen navigation, app-open events
  • Advertising data: ad engagement and personalization preferences
  • Crash data: failure information and stack traces for bug fixes
  • Performance data: load times and responsiveness metrics

Most data collection occurs through integrated third-party services rather than direct collection by Vanige.

Information We Don't Collect

The application does not gather:

  • Personal financial information
  • Contact lists or address books
  • Precise location data
  • Your beauty shelf data — it never leaves your device

How We Use Your Information

Collected data supports:

  • Application provision, maintenance, and improvement
  • Delivering opt-in local expiry reminders
  • Version update checks using publicly listed store metadata
  • Usage trend analysis and crash diagnostics
  • Ad delivery with GDPR/UMP and iOS ATT consent where required
  • Technical support communications

Sharing of Information

Personal information is not sold, traded, or transferred to third parties except in these circumstances:

  • With your explicit consent
  • When legally required
  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
  • During business mergers, sales, or acquisitions

Data Storage and Security

Your beauty shelf is stored exclusively on your device using MMKV — it is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Technical and organizational measures protect this local data against unauthorized access.

Data collected by third-party services (analytics, ads, crash reporting) resides on their own infrastructure, subject to their respective security practices and retention policies.

Your Rights and Choices

Because your shelf is stored locally and we hold no account for you, you remain in control of your data at all times. Depending on your location — for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act — you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, or port personal data. Vanige does not sell your personal information.

  • Accessing and correcting your product data within the app
  • Requesting deletion of analytics data held by third-party services
  • Opting out of personalized advertising
  • Restricting processing where applicable

Managing Your Preferences

  • Delete your data: delete the app or clear its data in device settings
  • Ad consent: review or withdraw personalized-ad consent in Settings → "Privacy Choices"
  • Notifications: turn off expiry reminders in the app or revoke permission in device settings
  • Camera / Photos: revoke access at any time in device settings

The application incorporates third-party services for advertising, analytics, and stability improvements. These services may collect identifying information and maintain independent privacy policies — we cannot guarantee their data safety.
